Linux ClubAnother student and I are starting a Linux Club at McGill. Clearly Linux users are in the minority, so we think it would be fun for the few of us to get together and teach each other about the cool things you can do on Linux, which will often focus on development of software. Rest assured, however, that you don't need to be a programmer to joining the Linux Club! The Linux Club is for any Linux User. Often events will focus on how to make your life easier when using Linux. Of course, any distribution is implied! Sometimes we will focus on software for Linux, like using the command-line more efficiently, or changing your window manager! Life isn't all work, and so often we will play a few games for Linux. We need help from other McGill Linux users, however. To really get this club started, we need at least six members, and we only have two. So we need four more. If you're interested, please contact me to sign up! Oh, but you're wondering about membership fees? Basically we ask you to contribute to the food at the events, and the cost of any events if any event costs anything. But, we're a small group, so you'll have your say in what type of events we hold! |
